Joann Spencer, Owner and IM=X Pilates Master Trainer
Joann is co-owner of the IM=X Pilates Studio in North Pittsburgh with her husband Brad and business partner Rena Abbate. Joann, a certified IM=X Pilates Instructor, spent three years as a personal trainer in NYC where she was awarded "Top Trainer" with Bally Sports Club. Joann is known in the NYC fitness training circles for her success with her clients who have won the Bally's 30-Day Weight Loss Challenge. Joann holds certifications with IFPA, AFPA and AFAA for Personal Training, Pre/Postnatal Training, Kickboxing and Stretch. She is also certified in Mat Pilates by Power Pilates and has completed the two year process of becoming an IM=X Pilates Master Trainer. IM=X Pilates, which is known for its contemporary and strength-training approach to traditional pilates, requires Master Trainers to complete eight certifications. Joann, a native of the Pittsburgh area, resides in Gibsonia with her husband and is the proud mother of two lovely children.

Brad Spencer, Owner
Brad is co-owner of the IM=X Pilates Studio in North Pittsburgh. Brad, along with his wife Joann and business partner Rena Abbate, plans on building the IM=X Pilates Studio business across the region. His passion and business acumen are evidenced by his approach to bringing the distinct IM=X Pilates Golf, Back, Senior, Pregnancy, Weight Loss Programs to the community at large. Brad, an avid sports and fitness enthusiast, grew up in a family of coaches where he learned the power of exercise on the mind and body. Brad, a certified IM=X Pilates Instructor, has studied Resistance, Balance, Stability and Core Training. It is through IM=X Pilates' inclusion of resistance, cardiovascular and flexibility training that Brad realized "pilates is for men"! Opening an IM=X Pilates Studio has allowed Brad to marry his love for fitness and quest to provide people with better health.

Janet Dreher, NCTMB
Jan Dreher is a Nationally Certified Therapist of Massage and Bodywork.   Since graduating from the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy (PSMT) in 2001, she has studied various massage modalities and offers her clients massages personalized to their health goals and objectives.    Jan is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and is an active volunteer in the PA Chapter.   She is also an instructor of Principals of Touch and Swedish Massage at PSMT.    Jan is excited to open a satellite office of her practice, With Hands and Heart Massage Therapy , within the IM=X Pilates Studio.   Regular massage sessions will help eliminate the "dis-ease" of your body and is a great compliment to your Pilates training.   Sessions are 30, 60 or 90 minutes in duration.    Discount prepaid packages are available.   Save 12% on a package of 3 sessions or 15% on package of 6 sessions.   Swedish massage, Deep Tissue/Sports/Muscle Release Technique TM    and pregnancy massage are available thru the IM=X office. IM=X Pilates founder, Elyse McNergney, studied and was certified by Romana Kryzanowska at The Pilates Studio in NYC before obtaining a certification in the Alexander Technique and two Masters Degrees (M.A. in Movement Science and an M.Ed. in Exercise Physiology at Columbia University). Impressed with the versatility and overall benefits of Pilates-style training, Elyse and her team of Exercise Physiologists created the IM=X Pilates program to reflect the changes and research of today's fitness and rehabilitation markets.
